Over two years later, and we still hear about the impact from our inaugural event. NCLM is excited to announce that planning has begun to bring our Liberating Methadone conference to a city near you in 2027!
NCLM is seeking a local co-host and collaborating partner as we move toward a decentralized and community-led model. We are looking for an organization, coalition, or grassroots group to help us bring the next chapter of this movement to life. Interested parties should submit an RFP using the application link below.

All applications will be reviewed by the NCLM conference planning committee and evaluated based on values alignment, community relationships, and logistical feasibility. Selected proposals will be invited to a panel interview. This is a chance for us to meet your team, hear the passion behind your proposal, and discuss how we can realistically co-create this space together.

On September 21st and 22nd, the National Coalition held its innaugural Liberating Methadone Conference in collaboration with the National Survivors Union and NYU Center for Opioid Epidemiology and Policy, bringing together 800 people (in person and virtually) to discuss and exchange ideas on how to improve access to and use of methadone to reduce the harms of chaotic opioid use.

A summary report of the conference highlights with a detailed set of proposed recommendations for providers, government agencies, and researchers aimed at improving access to methadone, reducing stigma, and enhancing the overall person-centeredness and effectiveness of methadone treatment.
